Endocrine System Healing: What Your Hormones Really Want You to Know

There’s a lot of interest in hormones recently. More conversations are happening about perimenopause and menopause, where hormones are made in the body, and how they’re connected.

There’s a collective understanding arising that hormones are far more important than we’ve been led to believe. But, what if everything we think we know about hormones only scratches the surface?

The endocrine system called recently, and I felt compelled to listen. To watch. And even to channel their words directly, as I’ll never be able to do them justice on my own.

What is the Endocrine System

Your endocrine ecosystem is a complex network of glands and organs. It uses hormones to control and coordinate your body’s metabolism, energy level, reproduction, growth and development, and response to injury, stress, and mood. It is the complex interconnection and relationship between the hypothalamus, pineal body, pituitary, thyroid and parathyroid, thymus, adrenal gland, pancreas, ovaries, and testes.

Energetically, these are the whispered conversations that move with spirit and soul that keep all of the organ ecosystems in a reciprocal relationship with one another. But when the communication networks break down, whispers become shouts, or a gland doesn’t feel supported enough to communicate anymore.

This is where I come in: a listener to help translate the energetic breakdown.

When I connected with the endocrine system, what came through challenged every conventional understanding of what hormones actually are and how the endocrine system functions as a whole.

Your Hormones Are Custodians, Not Messengers

We think of hormones as simple messengers. Yes, they’re created for a purpose by the body and send a message to another part of the body, thus fulfilling their chemical purpose. But they’re so much more than that.

According to the hormones themselves: “We are the custodians of everything in this body. We oversee, we translate, we transmit, we begin and end, we traverse far and wide, and yet we are always in council.”

Your endocrine system doesn’t build a bridge from one place to another in your body. Instead, it builds a council, a confluence, a coming together that cannot possibly be matched by a single transmission. They are the place where all bridges meet, and how all information is passed throughout your entire body.

The hormones have council rooms (as they call them) — places of gathering within the body where they commune, oversee, respond, and direct. But we know only the barest of what they let us see and know.

As they told me, “You comprehend approximately 2% of what we do. The “chemical component” is the most mundane of our roles.”

Endocrine System Healing Requires Trust First

Your hormones are the result of established trust, the way to which is cleared by fully feeling your feelings and letting your emotions do their job.

When trust isn’t available in your body, or has been broken, your hormones can’t function properly. The pathways through which they move are the pathways that the emotions keep clear. Your hormones don’t disappear — they’re always there, always rising and falling, expanding and contracting. But, when there is no trust, they cannot move in the ways that they need to, energetically.

They withdraw to their own council and await the time when the channels of trust are open again for them to move freely and speak.

You have to feel your way forward. Literally.

Being vs. Doing: A Different Approach to Hormone Healing

Many approaches to hormone healing focus on what you do: what supplements to take, the foods to eat, the lifestyle changes to make. But energetically, your hormones want you to understand something different.

“We be, child. And when you learn to be, also, is when you know us most fully.”

The question isn’t what you should do for your hormones. The question is:

How do you be in your internal ecosystem?

How do you be in your external one?

This isn’t about what you do or how you do it, but how you are in that network.

The lessons here are as multitudinous as the hormones claim to be. As they stated, they are “too multitudinous to be whittled down into what we do.” But overarchingly, the hormones encourage us to focus less on our individuality and more on our responsibility within the council, the group, or the ecosystem/network.

When you are seated in that position of council, then you can know their power.

Your Endocrine System Carries Ancient Wisdom

The voice that spoke on behalf of the council of hormones was ancient, splitting into a multitude of frequencies, from very young and high-pitched, to very wizened, scratchy, and deep.

Your endocrine system carries ancient wisdom about how to be in a relationship — with yourself, with others, with your environment. They know how to navigate the complex networks of your internal and external world because they are those networks.

Endocrine system healing isn’t about getting your hormones to behave. It’s about learning to be in council with the wise custodians of your body, trusting their intelligence, and creating the conditions where their ancient wisdom can guide you.
